After you have defined career growth and what it means to you, one of the options you may want to explore is to move on. The reasons may be that you want to challenge yourself at a new level, enhance your skills, see how a new industry functions, meet new people or places or for last but not the least doshdosh
.
The first step is to prepare your resume that should show your personality. There are many templates available, but I prefer the templates from monster. Choose the template that will help you describe yourself and you will be able to sell yourself in the job market. You should highlight and demonstrate that you have been a team player, quick learner or problem solver.
Once I had asked my project manager after we conducted an interview, what is he looking for in a candidate. He replied, “apart from the required skills to do a job, I am looking for a person whom I can work with”. That was a revelation to me !!! In a nutshell, you should come across as a positive person in your CV as well as in the interview.
You may have attended interviews earlier, but before every interview you will feel nervous. The only way to go for an interview is to be prepared. Read the job description carefully to know what is expected from you and research well about the prospective company where you will be working when you get the job. It never fails to impress in the interview process!
I found a video on Job interview from Rod Cornwell, recruitment specialist from Thomas International which is relevant. He talks about what a company looks for in a candidate and how you should sell yourself in an interview. There are some tips you may find useful.
