Everyone around talks about recession and a challenging economic climate. The government is doing the spending cuts to reduce the budget deficit and increased VAT. The councils have increased the parking charges to fund themselves. I was viewing Prime Minister’s question time on BBC where David Cameron and Ed Miliband clash over growth figures.
The Labour leader, Mr Miliband asked Mr Cameron:
“What the country want to know from you, as millions of families and businesses are worried about their livelihoods, they see unemployment rising, they see inflation rising and they see growth stall, are you going to change your strategy in any way in order to get the economy moving?”
That made me think, are there any recession proof jobs ?
I recalled, I had to book an appointment for my car to be serviced. I had to wait for the electrician to fix the boiler since she was busy with other jobs on hand. You are unlikely to get a quick appointment with a good hair dresser or with a driving instructor !!! Has recession effected these jobs ? The people who are in this profession are self employed and their earning prospects improve when they are recognised or referred in their profession.
The courses offered by City & Guilds are qualifications that count. With these qualifications, you will always be in demand and you can think of ways of how to make more money. Unlike a job with a supermarket which pays £ 6 per hour, these jobs are recession proof jobs:
