When I looked at the Canadian mobile phone monthly plans, I thought I was in an under developed country. The operators are charging for incoming calls !!! The add-on for internet is around $30 per month which is equal to the monthly plan. Some operators only provide local calling, and long distance calling is chargeable by the minute. As a consumer, I have very little choices.

There are three big daddies in the market place. Rogers, Bell and Telus. And you have sign up 2 to 3 year contracts. The deals are supposed to be good but they are not good enough like in US or UK or even India.

Out of all, I found the Chatr Wireless deal good. They piggy back on Rogers network. So I would get a good coverage. Moreover they offer an unlimited calling, so I can call anywhere in Canada and talk for unlimited minutes. The only short coming is they do not have a data plan. So,a cheap phone would do. 

$35 deal that is going on now, gives Unlimited Incoming Talk !!! / unlimited outgoing talk – anywhere in Canada, voice mail and other features. Atleast, I can call anywhere in Canada.  I can live without a data plan (like I am in stone age!).

Try the Talk unlimited deal with Chatr Wireless. I prefer it.
