The samosa has been a popular snack in the Indian Subcontinent for centuries. It is believed that it originated in Central Asia (where they are known as samsa) prior to the 10th century.Abolfazl Beyhaqi (995-1077), an Iranian historian has mentioned it in his history, Tarikh-e Beyhaghi. That is a bit of history to me. Today the popular one is the Punjabi samosas. It contains a mix of potatoes, peas and masala.

Gajar Halwa, Motichoor Laddu, Rasgulla,Rasmalai, Coconut Burfi, Shrikhand, Modak, cashew burfi …. These are the names of the Indian sweets. In the UK, I like Royal Sweets better than than other vendors. But if you like to go for a packaged sweets, then Haldiram's is good. Haldirams is the king of packaged Indian snacks and sweets.

When you're stressed; You eat Ice cream, cake, chocolate and sweets. Why? Because stressed spelled backwards is Desserts.

There will be a special bank holiday to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the United Kingdom (UK) on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. This event honors the 60-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II in the UK.

Moreover, the late May bank holiday will be moved to Monday, June 4, 2012, giving people across the UK a four-day long weekend.

I was having a good walk in Richmond and it is a lovely place. Also it is one of the most expensive place to live in Britain.

Richmond has been lot of for the tourists recently and many people are with their digital cameras to take picture of the star attraction. "The Boat" which will be in the Queen's diamond jubilee celebration.

How to recognise an airline ? By look at the tail of the airplane !!!  This place falls on the route of landing the plane. So if you have a telescopic lens, then you take the close-ups of the aeroplane. The photos would be worth a collection.

"What do you see in photo if you are a optimist person ?".  Test yourself: You have to use your own imagination to think and feel about this picture and give words to the picture.

The photo is not anywhere near masterpiece. But your thought could make it special. Some of my friends said, it was difficult to imagine and came up with an answer … eggs york in the bowl !!! But if you read about people who are successful, one thing common in them was they spotted something more than everyone else. Some people built their business when they spotted a gap in demand and supply.

Google billionaires want to mine asteroids for precious metals. Some would say, "What a ridiculous idea ?"… But a optimist would say … Google was successful with Android … so the next step would be Asteroid !!!  Or to earthlings like us, the billionaire will be spending his money on research and get tax reliefs.

The aerodynamic V shape formation reduces the air drag (air resistance) that each bird experiences when in flight in comparison to a bird flying solo. This allows them to cover longer distance (thousands of miles) with much less effort. For example, geese can achieve a greater distance of about 70 percent when flying in groups than each flying solo, using the same amount of energy.

In this formation, the bird in the lead position will experience a greater air resistance and will have to work a little harder, however, when the lead bird is tired it falls out of position and goes behind into one of the V position lines. Another bird from behind will then quickly move forward into the leading position thus, maintaining the V formation. The same happens for those birds in trailing positions especially those at both extreme ends of the V formation, since they tire more quickly than those in the middle. This cycle continues as they travel to their destination.

Ubuntu OS has everything what a user could expect in his Windows laptop. All for free… Here are list what you can do with Ubuntu Operating system.

However when I look around hardly anyone uses Ubuntu OS or very few even heard about it.  People spend a lot of money on devices to browse on the internet. e.g. iPad.

The big question is

"What is it that will make people to adopt ubuntu ?"

I asked my friends some basic questions

Q. Do you know what processor is your mobile phone ?

A. I don't know.

Q. Do you like high storage on your device ?

A. I really don't bother.

Q. Will you buy a device that is cheap and good and replace it with a new one next year

A. Probably Yes

Q. Do you replace your laptop every three years.

A. Replace laptop every 3 years and mobile every 2 years or earlier.

People would try Ubuntu when

• There is a cheap but good quality laptops. People would not care whether it has an Intel Processor inside.
• It is easy to buy such laptops.

People would be willing to buy a laptop that costs $ 200 without a thought with Ubuntu installed in it. The RAM should be 4GB, 320 GB hard drive, good processing speed, 5 hours battery, light weight and good screen resolution,  No Intel inside nor any popular brand of laptop that recommends Windows 7. 

Korean (Samsung, LG), Taiwanese (HTC)  and Chinese (Huawei)  device manufacturers had followed a similar strategy earlier in mobile phone market and dented the market of established players in USA and Europe. Initially they targetted basic handset market and then gradually progressed to make smart phones.

So if Ubuntu is able to bring the laptop manufacturers together who can offer quality laptops at a competitive price, then people are going to try Ubuntu.

The strategy for Ubuntu would be

• * Find vendors who can manufacture quality laptops for $200.
• * Brand is not important since no one will care what is inside the laptop.
• * The laptop should be offered without OS but with an option to install Ubuntu
• * The manufacturer should be able to offer a new laptop for the same price every year.
• * The laptop should be shipped directly from the manufacturer to end customer.
• * The above should be available on Ubuntu Shop.

When more people start to using Ubuntu, it will attract even more people to use it. That's a way to becoming popular.

The companies make money when discover a gap in the market or when things are done in a mediocre way. Vacuum existed before Dyson made it fashionable. MP3 player existed before Apple made it cool to own iPod.  Speakers were there before Bose made us hear the sound. Ear phones come in all colour and sizes before Dr Beats.

Asus spotted the netbook market … but Apple made it better with tablet PC. Microsoft was first to think about tablet… but they did not make efforts on the software. Google spotted the mobile OS market. A question Google must have asked, “Why should mobile makers spend money on software, when we have a resources to develop mobile OS ?” They got mobile phone manufacturers to install Android on their devices and sell it.

Intel built their business on microprocessor … with a clever marketing strategy “Intel inside” … People are reluctant to buy laptops that does not have intel inside.

Now there is a huge demand for a extremely long battery life of laptop, mobile phones and tablets …

But I am yet to come across a company that specializes on laptop batteries.  Are there tablet batteries available that runs on solar. So if some company specializes on batteries and promotes itself, then it will fill the gap and make lot of money.

So are there any companies in market that are listening to what I am saying. I had written a couple of year back to Acer … but they did not respond.
