Steve Jobs hopes that iPad will bridge the gap between a laptop and a smartphone and this book like gadget would prove more successful. In January, I said this gadget is iMac minus iPhone minus iPad as it fits the bill and size.

1. Recipe Book: iPad can be hung in the kitchen so to be used as a recipe book. People can check various recipes and make healthy food for themselves and their family. Jamie Oliver are you listening...
2. Digital Photo Frame: In last two years there are lot of Digital Photo frames in the market which around $ 50 to $100. It now looks like a dumb display product which consumes electricity. Digital Photo frame, iPad is coming.
3. Nintendo DS: They made a mark in the market by being portable and cute. This has been largely successful among teenagers who hang around playing it. Nintendo DS.. your game will be over.
4. E-book Readers: Sony Digital Book - Thinner, smaller and lighter than most magazines, the Reader Touch Edition lets you access up to 350 of your favorite books from anywhere. I want a Chronograph Watch

I want a Chronograph Watch, that was a wishful thinking. Whenever I visited any watch showroom, I used to see the watches around. The first time I noticed a chronograph watch in the wrist of any celebrity was Shahrukh Khan with Tag Heuer. And it looked terrific !!!  From that time onwards, I always had a fancy for a  chronograph watch, till one day someone gifted me an Accurist.

I want a Ubuntu Laptop

I have been searching for a laptop with Ubuntu OS and had been enquiring in computer stores like Currys and PC World but some where down the line, I am not getting a positive response on Linux laptops. The stores do not sell any Linux laptops as they are not very popular with the customers.

In contrast to the laptops, linux is adopted on the mobile phones. Android OS is the popular one which forms the OS of HTC mobile phones.

Are there Linux laptops readily available: A Sony Viao laptop with a Windows 7 preload with cost me from £450 onwards and Apple MacBook would start from £700 onwards. But as a end user I have no idea that a Linux based laptop exists in this world with a good support.   

What is cost of OS: Ubuntu is free for download and you can run it using usb flash drive. A full version of Windows 7 Home Premium starts from £80 and Apple leopard from £40. As a end user, I would prefer to buy a laptop which has pre-installed OS. So Ubuntu, even thought it is free is not appealing.

Does Ubuntu require a God Father to promote : The popularity of linux based OS like Android or Chrome is mainly due to the initiatives of Google. For the users to accept a new technology on their desktops, it would require a credible company to show the way for acceptance. I feel the users should be given a choice what OS they would like to have on the laptop with price associated rather than selling a pre-installed OS.  This would help the users to decide on whether to buy one OS or multiple OS on their laptop.

Finally I downloaded Ubuntu OS and is very pleased by its excellent results. And also it was a hazzle free installation. It is just like installing a new browser on your laptop. Now I have both Windows Vista and Ubuntu on my laptop.

Now my laptop takes 2 mins to boot up and 10 seconds to shut down. Moreover all the applications are fast and free. Windows takes around 5 mins to boot up and same amount of time to shut down. If 90% of people in the world use Windows, how much time they are sitting idle waiting for PC to boot up.

Technobuffalo Gadget Review Channel on YouTube

When I want to know about review on iPhone, Nexus One, Android or Apple, then my favourite youtube channel is Jon Rettinger of Technobuffalo.  Jon is a iPhone and  he tends to compare other phones with iPhone. But his reviews, I find it balanced. He now appears to review Android OS Smartphones and seems to like these phones.

A biometric passport, also known as an e-passport or ePassport, is a combined paper and electronic passport (hence the e-, as in e-mail) that uses biometrics to authenticate the identity of travellers. But is it true with the mobile phone network providers ? They have £25, £30, £35 18 to 24 months contracts with a free phone but things have not gone cheaper.

All of us laptops and smart phone. The question is there something between both of them. The answer is iPad.

Steve Jobs happily announces iPad price starts from $ 499.... Whow. He gave us an expensive option.

iMac $1699 - iPhone $900 - iPod $269 = iPad

I thought Apple is a innovative company. Why they want to target something between ? Are they confusing their customers ?

It is on the record - iPhone has dented the sales of ipod. Probably  iPad will dent the sale of iMac and iPhone.

I want a device that has capabilities of all three and also I can carry it around. Earlier I thought iPhone was the answer. But not any more.

iPhone vs Nokia N900 - The first impression on how the product is depends on the Ad campaign. When the company demonstrates their hi-tech gadget is easy to use, then it starts attracting peoples attention.  When I buy a gadget, how it can make my life easier.

Again they are talking technical. But the common users are not interested the technical names, but do I do it to get what I wanted.

• Nokia was first to have a camera on a mobile phone.
• SonyEricsson want to sell it phone as a MP3 player and now a HD camera.
• Blackberry - you can check your emails at home rather than office.
• Samsung can do everything cheaper.
• HTC is an Android phone.

But iPhone is not a phone but an device to make your life easy. You have an apps for an Indian recipe or an apps to find the nearest restaurant or games that would not need a Nintendo Wii. You can make you life easier.

When you see a Nokia N900 commercial, you can see everyone talking and phone that looks from Mars. iPhone commercial is simply perfect. It focuses on what I want.... no geeky terms - that's the reason people like it.

Nokia .... N900 is a brilliant phone. You should be connecting people rather than trying to find a  iPhone killer.
