Apple Computer and iWaant attitude. Look at how many time Steve Jobs says "iWaant"... History has it before iMac, iPod or iPhone, there was computer, MP3 and mobile phones that were sold in millions. But Steve Jobs did not like anyone of them. So he said, "One of the biggest motivation for working so hard for few years is you want one yourselves.... and it needs to be reinvented." And he and his team created their own products. First iMac, iPod, iPhone and now iPad.
Steve Jobs has a vision to see things differently. I am posting some of the videos / interviews on what he thought of the products at the launch. You can compare it today and see whether Apple products has changed the future.

Apple's iPad will hit the stores and there are lot of speculations whether it would be successful. Steve Jobs hopes that iPad will bridge the gap between a laptop and a smartphone and this book like gadget would prove more successful. In January, I said this gadget is iMac minus iPhone minus iPad as it fits the bill and size.
Apple makes lot of buzz about their products, but the question is what current products it is going kill and whether it will change people's habits.
Recipe Book: iPad can be hung in the kitchen so to be used as a recipe book. People can check various recipes and make healthy food for themselves and their family. Jamie Oliver are you listening...
Digital Photo Frame: In last two years there are lot of Digital Photo frames in the market which around $ 50 to $100. It now looks like a dumb display product which consumes electricity. Digital Photo frame, iPad is coming.
Nintendo DS: They made a mark in the market by being portable and cute. This has been largely successful among teenagers who hang around playing it. Nintendo DS.. your game will be over.
E-book Readers:Sony Digital Book - Thinner, smaller and lighter than most magazines, the Reader Touch Edition lets you access up to 350 of your favorite books from anywhere. The intuitive 6" touchscreen display makes navigation a breeze, letting you turn pages with the swipe of a finger. People are going to read your history on iPad.
Newspapers: Internet has nearly killed the newspapers. But whether iPad will revive the digital version of the newspapers. In future, when you look around in London Underground, you will find people reading on iPad. This will reinforce Rupert Murdoch's vision for people will pay for online content. Just to let you know TimesOnline will be paid from June onwards and New York Times will also do the same from Jan 2011.
If you have any suggestions on what products iPad is going to kill, please comment on the blog.
There has been lot of talk on Apple iPad killer. To me iPad killer is iPhone - everything what iPad can do will be done by iPhone and you can carry it in your pocket.
Take the web with you. With the BlackBerry® Internet Service browser, you get full access to the Internet on the go, so you can browse the same sites on your BlackBerry® device that you browse at your desktop PC.
Blackberry why are you spending on browser development, when you have a much better, readymade browser in the market. Opera Mini
Top Features of Opera Mini Browser
Tabbed browsing : Browse several Web sites at the same time, while easily jumping from one to another.
Speed Dial: Get to your favorite Web page with just one click, with a set of visual bookmarks when you open a new tab.
Faster: Time is precious. Opera Mini compresses pages by up to 90% before being sent to your phone, meaning faster page-load times than in other mobile Web browsers.
Mobile view: Fit content to your mobile phone. Mobile view intelligently reformats Web pages into a single column eliminating the need for horizontal panning. Changing to Mobile view is accessible though the Settings menu.
BB internet browser offers none of these and it is very slow. BB: Why not spend your resources for development of other BB capabilities and adopt Opera Mini as standard internet browser in Blackberry devices.
Tip: Focus on core strengthens and you will make money. (Don't buy designer sun glasses. Designers are famous for their clothes, not sun glasses.)
An electric fence is a barrier that uses electric shocks to deter animals or people from crossing a boundary. The voltage of the shock may have effects ranging from uncomfortable, to painful or even lethal. Most electric fencing is used today for agricultural fencing and other forms of animal control purposes, though it is frequently used to enhance security of sensitive areas, and there exist places where lethal voltages are used.
An early application of the electric fence was developed in 1936–1937 by New Zealand inventor William "Bill" Gallagher Sr. Built from a car's ignition coil and a magneto set, Gallagher used the device to keep his horse from scratching itself against his car. Gallagher later started a company to improve and market the design.
The first time I heard the word, I thought it must be a new animal coming to the London Zoo. Then I was told it is not an animal, not a monkey, chimpanzee or a tadpole. It is an octopus looking tripod stand. When I looked at it, it is an amazing idea !!!
-----
The Gorillapod firmly secures your camera to just about anything - anywhere and everywhere! Unlike traditional tripods, the gorillapod doesn't require an elevated surface for you to take the perfect shot.
It wraps around posts, trees, and railings, even sides of rocks, to form a stable anchor for compact cameras - the possibilities are endless.
It is more like Lizard on the tree. Fix your camera to the stand and it will hang like a chimpanzee. It is lighter than the tripod.
This chimp is highly recommended to photographers who want to take their own pictures with their friends and buddies.
Question: How TomTom traffic update is accurate in UK
Answer: TomTom has therefore developed High Definition (HD) Traffic. HD Traffic is a revolutionary service that uses anonymous data on the direction and speed mobile phones are travelling in cars. This data is made available thanks to a cooperation with Vodafone.
This works due to the fact that every active mobile phone transmits a signal to the mobile network from which it is possible to discern its location. Whenever a mobile phone is in motion at a certain speed and in a certain direction, reliable and useful traffic information becomes available. TomTom can access this anonymous data from millions of Vodafone customers, giving an accurate view of the traffic situation throughout the road network. This data is compared and merged with information from traffic authorities, road operators, and commercial third parties. A dedicated TomTom traffic centre and operations facility allows TomTom to monitor the quality of the service. The quality and accuracy of HD Traffic information is therefore very high.
Thanks to the built-in SIM cards of the TomTom HD Traffic Receiver and the ONE XL HDT, drivers are constantly connected to the HD Traffic service. Both products include access to the HD Traffic service for a defined period, after which a yearly subscription can be purchased. The HD Traffic Receiver and the ONE XL HDT ensure an easy out-of-the-box experience with no hidden costs or complicated wireless internet connections.
HD Traffic covers all ‘A’ roads and secondary roads. In the Netherlands that’s 22,000 kilometers of roads, ten times more than any other traffic information service. The data is processed and delivered faster than any other service. And as data comes from the actual speed of vehicles on the road network rather than lengths of traffic jams, the driver gets an accurate and up-to-date ETA that is constantly updated in line with the current traffic situation.
The result of this solution is an easy to use and highly detailed and comprehensive traffic information service. Drivers using other services frequently receive out-of-date traffic incident reports and when choosing an alternative route risk getting stuck in traffic on secondary roads that aren’t covered by their service. Only with HD Traffic are drivers empowered to always make the right decision when it comes to selecting an alternative route. HD Traffic will initially be launched in the Netherlands. The service will then be extended to the UK, and later to more countries.
I want a Chronograph Watch, that was a wishful thinking. Whenever I visited any watch showroom, I used to see the watches around. The first time I noticed a chronograph watch in the wrist of any celebrity was Shahrukh Khan with Tag Heuer. And it looked terrific !!! From that time onwards, I always had a fancy for a chronograph watch, till one day someone gifted me an Accurist.
I was very much pleased with the gift and it was now time to explore the watch.
What is a Chronograph Watch ?
A chronograph watch unlike standard timepieces has specific dials which can measure second, minute and hour intervals - ideal for people who require accuracy, whether it be in use by a sportsman or for usage in a working environment.
How to operate a Chronograph Watch ?
Chronograph watch is just like being a owner BMW. But if you use it only for knowing time, then you are treating it like a Fiat.
Like to read it in detail, then click here. The video tutorial should help you to decide on buying a good chronograph watches.
But if you feel you are not going to measure time with such accuracy, then it is perfectly alright to attract attention. Just flick your hand on your hair, the girls are most likely to notice your watch and have a conversation with you. You will have something to talk to start with.
I have been searching for a laptop with Ubuntu OS and had been enquiring in computer stores like Currys and PC World but some where down the line, I am not getting a positive response on Linux laptops. The stores do not sell any Linux laptops as they are not very popular with the customers.
In contrast to the laptops, linux is adopted on the mobile phones. Android OS is the popular one which forms the OS of HTC mobile phones.
What could be the reason, Linux laptops are not popular ?
Are there Linux laptops readily available: A Sony Viao laptop with a Windows 7 preload with cost me from £450 onwards and Apple MacBook would start from £700 onwards. But as a end user I have no idea that a Linux based laptop exists in this world with a good support.
What is cost of OS: Ubuntu is free for download and you can run it using usb flash drive. A full version of Windows 7 Home Premium starts from £80 and Apple leopard from £40. As a end user, I would prefer to buy a laptop which has pre-installed OS. So Ubuntu, even thought it is free is not appealing.
PC vs Mac: The war between PC and Mac is well known and each ridiculing the other and explaining which is the best OS. Mac focusses more on user friendliness and Windows on costs. Ubuntu can do all the things what Mac and Windows can do but there is no advertising campaign to demonstrate it.
Recommending: You will notice on every popular laptop vendor website
Windows®. Life without Walls™. Toshiba recommends Windows 7
Windows® . Life without Walls™ . Dell recommends Windows 7.
Windows®. Life without Walls™.HP recommends Windows 7.
Windows®. Life without Walls™.Sony recommends Windows 7.
Apple sells only Mac
So when the top laptop vendors recommend Microsoft's Windows 7, how will the consumers believe that there is any other OS in the market. Or a matter of fact, have the consumers have experienced any other OS to decide which one suits them.
Of the above, only Dells sells Ubuntu netbooks. Other laptop vendors do not offer a choice for Linux based OS in their buying preferences nor they are interested to sell them. The reason probably would be an arrangement with Microsoft to sell their OS.
Does Ubuntu require a God Father to promote : The popularity of linux based OS like Android or Chrome is mainly due to the initiatives of Google. For the users to accept a new technology on their desktops, it would require a credible company to show the way for acceptance. I feel the users should be given a choice what OS they would like to have on the laptop with price associated rather than selling a pre-installed OS. This would help the users to decide on whether to buy one OS or multiple OS on their laptop.
The popularity of open source applications proves that they are good products in the market. When users are aware of their existence, they have been adopted for the use. And you have developers working round the globe to enhance the open source products.
With directives from European commission, Microsoft offers choice to their European users to install internet browser of their choice, I feel the same for laptops. The laptop vendors should offer a choice to their customers on OS when they buy and associated price for their it. This will be an important milestone towards helping people to decide what they want.
Nixepixel's Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Review 10.04 - with Screen Captures
Finally I downloaded Ubuntu OS and is very pleased by its excellent results. And also it was a hazzle free installation. It is just like installing a new browser on your laptop. Now I have both Windows Vista and Ubuntu on my laptop.
Now my laptop takes 2 mins to boot up and 10 seconds to shut down. Moreover all the applications are fast and free. Windows takes around 5 mins to boot up and same amount of time to shut down. If 90% of people in the world use Windows, how much time they are sitting idle waiting for PC to boot up.

When I want to know about review on iPhone, Nexus One, Android or Apple, then my favourite youtube channel is Jon Rettinger of Technobuffalo. Jon is a iPhone and he tends to compare other phones with iPhone. But his reviews, I find it balanced. He now appears to review Android OS Smartphones and seems to like these phones.
Jon looks to be very resourceful to get new gadgets that come in the market and provide a review.

A biometric passport, also known as an e-passport or ePassport, is a combined paper and electronic passport (hence the e-, as in e-mail) that uses biometrics to authenticate the identity of travellers. It uses contactless smart card technology, including a microprocessor chip (computer chip) and antenna (for both power to the chip and communication) embedded in the front or back cover, or centre page, of the passport. Document and chip characteristics are documented in the International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO) Doc 9303.
The passport's critical information is both printed on the data page of the passport and stored in the chip. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is used to authenticate the data stored electronically in the passport chip making it virtually impossible to forge.
All passports now issued in the UK are ‘biometric’. Biometric details are those which are unique to you – like your fingerprint, the iris of your eye, and your facial features.
The biometric details in British passports
The chip inside the passport contains information about the holder’s face – such as the distances between eyes, nose, mouth and ears. These details are taken from the passport photograph that you supply. They can then be used to identify the passport-holder. The chip also holds the information that is printed on the personal details page of your passport.
How the biometric passport is used
The chip containing the biometric and personal details has an antenna that means it can be read electronically. Biometric checks can be used at border controls, especially at automated passport control gates, and also by the Identity and Passport Service (IPS) to check the image on passport renewal applications against images held on record.
How the data is protected and your details kept safe
The data on the chip is protected in three ways, with:
a ‘digital signature', which shows that the data is genuine and which country has issued the passport
Basic Access Control, a ‘chip protocol’ that prevents the data being read without the passport holder’s knowledge
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), a digital technique that confirms the data on the chip was written by IPS and has not been changed
The chips can only be read at a few centimetres’ distance from a chip reader – so they cannot be accidentally read.
A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a basic 'feature phone'. While some feature phones are able to run simple applications based on generic platforms such as Java ME or BREW, a smartphone allows the user to install and run much more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. - Source: Wikipedia
What happens to your old dumb mobile phone when you recycle ? Mopay explains
97% of the phones that we receive can be reused and reintroduced back into the global market after data wiping the devices to satisfy demand for mobile phones.
In certain parts of the world like Africa, the mobile phone is fast becoming the number one form of communication because landline access is limited in certain areas and owning a mobile is the most convenient way to communicate and do business.
Any phones that we receive which cannot be reused we recycle them in accordance to the WEEE Directive and break them down for parts which can be reused such as metals including copper, silver and gold. Any plastic casing is melted down and used for mouldings such as road cones!
Direct Line Insurance promo shows that they have cut their middlemen and price comparison site and passed on the savings to the customer. And the insurance is cheaper. But is it true with the mobile phone network providers ? They have £25, £30, £35 18 to 24 months contracts with a free phone but things have not gone cheaper.
Welcome to the world of Mobile e-tailers and you get your some money back by redemptions.
and availed good deals from them. They have paid back the redemption amounts promptly when I presented the mobile phone according to the schedule.
When your contract ends, find out which network provides you good value for money and switch. You will retain the same mobile number but it will be a different network provider.
If you can save more than 100 bucks, don't go direct to mobile network provider. Why not use the mobile e-tailer and save money.
Tip: When you save money, you create money for yourself.
Nokia N8 - 12-Megapixel camera, coupled with Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash – result in outstanding photographs. The killer point is its high-definition video. Will it overshadow apps of iphone and influence people to upload HD video on YouTube ? An improvement in technology definitely influences industries that supports the technology. iPhone has created a new breed of entrepreneurs who make million on selling apps. Will Nokia N8 create a new breed of young directors who will make movies from their mobile handset and give a run for money for Hollywood ?
Introducing Nokia N8 from a hairy man
The Nokia N8 is the first smartphone to offer a true home theatre experience with HD quality film and Dolby digital surround sound by simply plugging the device into to a home theatre system with a HDMI cable.
iPhone vs Nokia N900 - The first impression on how the product is depends on the Ad campaign. When the company demonstrates their hi-tech gadget is easy to use, then it starts attracting peoples attention. When I buy a gadget, how it can make my life easier.
Remember Nokia's 3210 in 1999 and 3310 were massively popular mobile phones of the time that changed the fortunes of Nokia. The reason for success was it was easy to use and the popularity spread through word of mouth. Apple demonstrate the same simple things in the campaign answering the question "What a great about iPhone ?" which has made it one of the accepted devices now.
as opposed to Nokia N900
or
This is what appeals the users
Again they are talking technical. But the common users are not interested the technical names, but do I do it to get what I wanted.
Nokia was first to have a camera on a mobile phone.
SonyEricsson want to sell it phone as a MP3 player and now a HD camera.
Blackberry - you can check your emails at home rather than office.
But iPhone is not a phone but an device to make your life easy. You have an apps for an Indian recipe or an apps to find the nearest restaurant or games that would not need a Nintendo Wii. You can make you life easier.
When you see a Nokia N900 commercial, you can see everyone talking and phone that looks from Mars. iPhone commercial is simply perfect. It focuses on what I want.... no geeky terms - that's the reason people like it.
Nokia .... N900 is a brilliant phone. You should be connecting people rather than trying to find a iPhone killer.
